Open all year round. The AMBASSADOR Residence Boutique Hotel Chania is located on the waterfront of the five-hundred-year old Venetian Harbour of Chania. It casts an air of modern luxury and comfort over a historical neoclassical building that was built in 1890. It used to be the private residence of Ambassador R. Kruger, a complex personage with studies in archaeology, fine arts and economy. He was a tradesman with ideas and knowledge, who devoted money, time and work to import innovative machines at the time, improving the quality of production of the Cretan products that he marketed all over Europe. Each of the nine rooms of the hotel is dominated by one of the materials that the ambassador was trading. This pattern thus re-emerges in every room, in different materials and on a different scale. The rooms were designed to be cool, modern, comfortable and elegant, and to evoke the warmth of the Cretan land and soul. Elegant modern lines finish the natural textures, and the furniture is of old reused materials, which reflects an environment-friendly approach. The Mediterranean sun floods all the spaces of the hotel with light, through big windows and skylights.
