Milia Mountain Retreat

Open all year round MILIA is an authentic 17th-century village that was transformed into an rural/agritourism unit with special environmental awareness in 1993. It is surrounded by beautiful chestnut trees and a wealth of mountain vegetation. It is located on the west end of the Prefecture of Chania. It was restored in the old style with local materials, stone and wood, to capture some of the mysterious atmosphere of the old village houses. The result perfectly speaks for itself and right from the heart that led to it. Many services are provided, ranging from food, rest, adventure, leisure activities, art, seminars, all of which makes the visitors’ stay a unique experience. It is impossible to get bored in Milia. The visitors can choose among several activities, such as hiking, cooking seminars, excursions to the beautiful nearby beaches. Or simply recharging all of their energy by communing with nature, or trying out the village restaurant that serves delicious meals, traditionally prepared with local products exclusively.
Milia is an experience worth having!

Our philosophy
“Our priority is to save and preserve the traditional cycle of life, so as to serve both humans and the environment, while being focused on the Cretan tradition and respecting the history of the land. It is our duty to promote the culture and true identity of the region and its people, with an eye to both the present and the future.”
