“Exantas” was set up by publisher Themis Banousis in June 2006. It is a space of knowledge and culture. The product of many efforts towards the creation of a cultural centre in Chania, a junction where the search for books, paintings, engravings and gravures combines ideas from the past, present and future… Every stone, every corner of the city of Chania hides a shred of the age-long history of the city. At the crossroads of three continents, Chania was influenced by many cultures that left their traces in its city, from civilizations dating back to the Ancient Greeks, Byzantines, Venetians and Ottomans. Chania is a myth; it is history, a mosaic of images from yesterday and from today.We invite you to experience Chania, to feel and learn the unique cultural identity of its city.
